PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Braun ThermoScan® 7+ IRT6525 Ear Thermometer is an advanced device designed to provide accurate and comfortable temperature measurements for the whole family. Equipped with AgeSmart™ technology, it allows the fever interpretation to be adjusted according to the user’s age, offering clear and personalized guidance. Its pre-heated tip minimizes the cooling effect in the ear canal, ensuring consistent and accurate results. In addition, it has a night mode that includes a light and silent function, making it easy to use in dark environments without disturbing the little ones’ sleep.
MAIN FEATURES
- AgeSmart™ Technology: Provides age-adjustable fever guidance, taking the guesswork out of temperature interpretation for the entire family.
- Patented Pre-Warmed Tip: Designed to minimize the cooling effect of the tip inside the ear canal, providing accurate measurements every time.
- Night mode with light and silent function: Includes a light for easy use in the dark and a silent function to avoid sleep interruptions.
- ExacTemp® Stability Indicator: Uses a light and beep to confirm correct thermometer placement, ensuring accurate measurements.
- Safe and hygienic: Braun disposable lens filters help eliminate the risk of cross-contamination and ensure accurate readings.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
- Remove the thermometer from the protective case.
- Press the power button. During an internal self-test, the display will show all segments and then the last temperature taken for 5 seconds.
- The lens filter indicator will flash to signal that one is needed. To achieve accurate measurements, make sure a new, clean lens filter is in place before each measurement. Attach a new lens filter by pushing the thermometer probe straight into the lens filter inside the case and then pulling it out.
- Select your age using the AgeSmart™ button as shown below. Press the button to cycle through each age group. NOTE: You must select an age in order to take a measurement.
- Place the probe into your ear canal and point it toward the opposite temple. Then press and release the start button.
- The ExacTemp® light will flash while the temperature measurement is in progress. The light will remain on for 3 seconds to indicate that a successful temperature reading has been achieved. NOTE: If the probe has been correctly inserted into the ear canal during the measurement, a long beep will sound to signal the measurement is complete.
- The confirmation beep indicates that an accurate temperature measurement has been taken. The result is displayed on the screen. The temperature reading displayed is an equivalent of an oral temperature.
- For the next measurement, press the eject button to remove and discard the used lens filter, and insert a new, clean lens filter. NOTE: The thermometer automatically turns off after 60 seconds of inactivity. It can also be turned off by pressing the power button. The display will briefly flash OFF and then turn off.
WARNINGS
- This thermometer should only be used with genuine Braun ThermoScan disposable lens filters (LF 40). To avoid inaccurate measurements, always use this thermometer with a new, clean lens filter attached. If the thermometer is accidentally used without a lens filter attached, clean the lens.
- Keep lens filters out of reach of children. This thermometer is intended for household use only. This product is not intended to diagnose any disease, but is a useful tool for detecting temperature. The use of this thermometer is not intended to replace consultation with your physician.
- Do not modify this equipment without the manufacturer's authorization. Parents or guardians should call their pediatrician if they notice any unusual signs or symptoms, such as unexplained irritability, vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, seizures, change in appetite or activity, even in the absence of fever, or a low temperature, as they may still require medical attention.
- Children who are taking antibiotics, pain relievers, or fever reducers should not be evaluated based solely on temperature readings to determine the severity of their illness. Elevated temperature, as indicated by AgeSmart™, may indicate serious illness, especially in adults who are elderly, frail, have a weakened immune system, or newborns and infants. Seek professional advice immediately when there is a rise in temperature and if you are taking the temperature in:
- Newborns and infants under 3 months of age (consult your doctor immediately if the temperature exceeds 37.4 °C or 99.4 °F).
- Patients over 60 years old.
- Patients with diabetes mellitus or a weakened immune system (e.g. HIV positive, cancer chemotherapy, chronic steroid treatment, splenectomy).
- Patients who are bedridden (e.g., nursing home patients, stroke, chronic illness, surgery recovery).
- Transplant patients (e.g. liver, heart, lung, kidney).
